Why This? Why Now?

     I'm a writer and historical theologian, from the traditions of Hunter S. Thompson, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Joseph Heller ( "Catch-22"). My focus is to blunt the power of the so-called "Christian Nationalists" in their attempts to install a regime of christo-facism.      

     Not since Lincoln and Grant saved the Union has our nation been so at risk. Our country’s government was created by people, and can be destroyed by people. Lincoln said that our frontiers made it impossible for any other nation to destroy us; we can only be destroyed bye destroying ourselves. And we are on the edge of the ledge.

      I am here to push back on Christian Nationalism. The Faith has been used as cover to start wars and kill people since Constantine made it legal. True Believers, the dangerous Christian Nationalists built by Fox News, are lining up to worship Trump, a famous con man, liar, rapist, felon, insurrectionist, and narcissistic sociopath.

      Everyone has to pitch in. I’ll do what I can.

      I spent many years in performing comedy (in Mr. Elk & Mr. Seal, at Comedy Central, MTV, Prairie Home Companion, West Bank Theater Bar in Hell's Kitchen), producing theater (MN Fringe Festival, Bryant- Lake Bowl Cabaret Theater, Spirit in the House!), and teaching/preaching Dr. King. I wrote for 2 Japanese retail design magazines in NYC  and was briefly a UN Correspondent for Nippon TV during the First Gulf War.  I have 3 CDs out- 2 with Mr. Elk & Mr. Seal (on Spotify and YouTube) and one with Bongos Bass and Bob (me, Penn Jillette and Rob Elk---YouTube only ). I wrote for 4 editions of "The Penguin Guide to NYC"; I have been published ("Church & Stage" available on Amazon). Sorry girls, I'm married. My Favorite comics are Bill Hicks, Jon Stewart, Lewis Black, and Richard Pryor. I have performed with the first three. I have 3 advanced degrees in theology, and wrote 400 sermons, all on YouTube.
